Apple to Have Beats Music App Pre-Installed on iPads, iPhones in 2015

Apple announced its plans to incorporate Beats subscription music service on iPhones and iPads that will be released in 2015, Financial Times reported.

This report came after rumors suggested that Apple is planning on re-branding Beats Music and incorporating it on iTunes. To enjoy the upcoming service, consumers will have to subscribe because reports indicated that there will be no free trial.

As Apple has already acquired Beats, preloading its music service into the iOS operating system will enable the tech giant to promote its offerings against competing services, such as Spotify. Such efforts would be Apple's first major attempt to take on subscription music streaming.

With Apple acquiring Beats and moving forward to make music streaming as a key priority, the tech giant is expected to finally accept the fact that such service could make them more successful.

Apple founder Steve Jobs previously stated that music streaming can be deemed as an unfavorable venture, especially with customers wanting to personally obtain their preferred music. However, with the music business' current trend that has shifted from music purchasing to music streaming, there has been an increased emphasis on streaming and subscription approach.

"Pre-installing apps on devices is seen as a fast track to reaching new customers," the Financial Times reported, based on the statements of sources close to the tech giant. "Apple could also take advantage of its new mobile payments service to enable customers to subscribe with just one touch of the iPhone's fingerprint reader."

Apple may incorporate the use of the TouchID fingerprint reader for users to easily subscribe to the service. The company has already allowed mobile payments to be carried out among stores and certain sites through TouchID.

Meanwhile, while Apple has integrated the iTunes Radio into the iTunes music app, such service failed to outperform competitors, such as the widely popular Pandora.
