Frozen Dominates iTunes' Year End List

Disney animated hit Frozen dominated iTunes' year-end list by bagging two major top-selling titles. The movie Frozen is iTunes' biggest selling move of all time, while its soundtrack album also made it to the top, selling more copies than any other albums released in the US for 2014.

Since its release in November 2013, "Frozen" movie has become a major blockbuster hit for Walt Disney Co. The movie also won two Academy Awards and it is currently the fifth-highest-grossing film of all time, with an estimate earning of more than $1.27 billion worldwide.

In a news report by USA Today, Apple announced Monday that Taylor Swift's 1989, released only in October, trails behind Frozen as second top-selling album for this year. Ghost Stories by Coldplay,  In the Lonely Hour by Sam Smith, and the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack also made it to the Top 5 albums.

Pharell's highly infectious Happy is first on the list of top-selling songs for this year in iTunes.

The online music store also revealed that John Legend's "All of Me" and Katy Perry's "Dark Horse" also made it to the top 4 list of best selling songs.

Game of Thrones was named as Top TV series. Heads Up! and Facebook Messenger dominated the app market as top paid and free apps for iPhone. Top selling paid and free apps for iPad are Minecraft, Pocket Edition and Youtube.

For the fiction book category, John Green's 2012 novel The Fault in Our Stars was the biggest selling book for this year. iTunes also named Flash Boys: A Wall Street Revolt and Private as top-selling books 1 for nonfiction and free books, respectively.

iTunes is a media device management application developed by Apple Inc to play, download, and organize digital audio and video on personal computers and mobile devices running the OSX operating system.
