Almost a year ago Nokia unveiled its last flagship smartphone with the help of Microsoft. Dubbed as the Lumia 930, the handset has been considered as the closest Nokia has been in actually competing with high-end Android phones released during that time.
The device packs a 5-inch display with a Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, 2GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 800 chipset. What the phone is popularly known for, though, is its 20MP primary camera with the famed PureView features.
Nokia experienced difficulties on their own the previous year, and so the acquisition by Microsoft did not come as a surprise. In fact, months later the partnership has resulted in more midrangers, which appealed to their target markets.
However, just when everyone thought Nokia and Microsoft are doing well, reports surfaced that the Redmond giant will ditch the Nokia branding once and for all. Later last year, the first Microsoft Lumia device was announced.
In spite its owners decision to scratch out its brand name in future Windows-powered handsets, Nokia is still very much alive in an upcoming variation of its Lumia 930.
According to a report Phone Arena, the company has offered a Golden Collector's Edition version of the Lumia 930, which is almost one year old in the market already. In the report, the device boasts a golden frame and an elegant black finish. The Nokia logo is also in gold.
Unfortunately, only 3000 units of the golden smartphone will reportedly make their way in the market.
Priced at $467, the Golden Collector's Edition of the Lumia 930 comes with a DC-20 Car Charger and the Nokia DT900 wireless charging pad. For people who are die-hard fans of the Finnish brand, this is certainly a great way to treasure the memories brought by the company for decades.
The phone reportedly comes with the same specs, and a slightly older version of Windows Phone 8.1. Fortunately, the camera app has already been updated to the latest version, and the Denim update is available for download as well.
