The long awaited "Steve Jobs' biopic has now been given a further push to its progress as its cast has been finalized and principal photography has begun in San Francisco.
Penned by Aaron Sorkin and directed by Danny Boyle, the "Steve Jobs' movie will be putting Michael Fassbender forward as the Apple co-founder and one of the most renowned tech innovators in history.
Universal Pictures has announced last Tuesday that other cast members will include Kate Winslet who will play ex-Macintosh marketing chief; Seth Rogen as Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak; Jeff Daniels as former Apple CEO John Sculley; Katherine Waterston as Chrisann Brennan, Jobs' ex-girlfriend; and Michael Stuhlbarg as Andy Hertzfeld as one of the pioneering Mac developers.
Centered on the biography created by Walter Isaacson, the context for the "Steve Jobs' movie will include three product launches and will end in 1998, showing the announcement of the iMac.
In the promotional release of the upcoming film, viewers can expect to go "behind the scenes of the digital revolution to paint an intimate portrait of the brilliant man at its epicenter."
Initiating the production phase has been deemed as a noteworthy target for the movie, which was first developed at Sony Pictures in 2011. Hindrances to push through included David Finch passing up on directorial duties as well as Leonardo DiCaprio and Christian Bale not signing on as cast members as initially rumored.
Following its turnaround, Universal Pictures eventually picked up the movie from Sony.
Other members of the finalized cast roster include Perla Haney-Jardine from "Future Weather', Ripley Sobo from "Winter's Tale', Makenzie Moss from "Do You Believe?', Sarah Snook and Adam Shapiro.
While Universal noted that filming came into progress this week in San Francisco, a huge buzz in Berkeley highlighted the film's production at the La Méditerranée restaurant on College Avenue where period cars from the 80s had been parked.
According to onlookers, the 2900 block of College Avenue located in the Elmwood neighborhood went through a dramatic overhaul where one can easily view a mid-1980s scene.
A casting call for males with long hair and facial hair as well as women who have "natural" hair colors had been put up to further set the 80s and 90s vibe, Sightings of Fassbender, Rogen, Winslet and Daniels were reported.
