Tom Cruise will be making an early comeback in cinemas as Ethan Hunt this year as Paramount and Skydance Productions moved the official release of "Mission: Impossible 5" to July 31, 2015.

The movie was initially scheduled for release in December, but was moved to the last weekend of July, the same weekend in which the "Guardians of the Galaxy" was released last year.

In addition, Paramount has delayed the release of the live-action film "Monster Trucks" which was set for a debut on May 29 right during Memorial Day weekend. It will now be launched on Christmas Day, and is now up against 'The Revenant' and 'Alvin and the Chipmunks 4.'

The cast and crew of "MI5" are expected to complete the filming and production of the movie earlier than scheduled, which prompted the studio to consider releasing the movie months before the highly anticipated "Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens" by J.J. Abrams, which will hit theaters on December 18.

Christopher McQuarrie is directing "MI5." Aside from McQuarrie, actors from the previous films will also be reprising their roles, including Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell, Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn, and Jeremy Renner as William Brandt.

New cast members have also been confirmed for "MI5", such as Alec Baldwin who will take on the role of CIA chief and Chinese actress Zhang Jingchu who will reportedly be playing a major part in the film. "The Borgias" actor Sean Harris was also announced to play the role of the film's main villain.

With an earlier opening, "MI5" will also be able to distance itself from "Spectre", the James Bond sequel from MGM and Sony Pictures that will debut on Nov. 6. As "MI5" will be having a summer release, it will compete with "Point Break" from Alcon Entertainment and Warner Bros. and "Southpaw" starring Jake Gyllenhaal.

The previous movie iteration of Mission Impossible, which hit theaters in December of 2011, raked in roughly $650 million in the international box office. Limited details have been released about upcoming sequel, although there have been rumors that the upcoming movie will be set in different parts of the world. Several cast members were reportedly spotted in Morocco and Vienna.
