English actor Paul Bettany spoke about his role as "Vision" in "Avengers: Age of Ultron" during an interview with News.com.au.
He also implied that the "Avengers" sequel may not be his last film with Marvel Studios.
Bettany first joined the Marvel cinematic universe in the 2008 superhero film "Iron Man." He took on the role and supplied the voice for JARVIS, the artificial intelligent system of Robert Downey Jr.'s iconic character, Tony Stark.
He reprised his role in two more "Iron Man" sequels and the first "Avengers" movie before landing the role of Vision in the upcoming superhero ensemble, "Avengers: Age of Ultron."
In the Marvel comic books, Vision is an android who uses solar energy as his main source of power.
For his first Marvel role that involves being physically in front of the camera, Bettany did his research by watching all Marvel films outside the "Iron Man" series.
"I did a lot of research - and my research was watching all of the films," he told News.com.au. "I realized they are so interlinked and I wanted to understand the universe I was in."
"So I did and it was really amazing, fun experience - especially going from my tiny, 20-day movie with no money and no trailers to this behemoth film was just great," he added.
As for his experience during film production, he said he had a good time with his co-stars and was impressed by the immensity of the project.
"Everybody made me feel really at home and I have no bad stories - they are really funny people and really creative," Bettany said. "I have never seen sets that big in my whole career. I have never seen set pieces like it - we were in a set that felt like a town."
The actor didn't go into detail regarding Vision's contribution to "Age of Ultron" but he hinted that he is slated for more Marvel projects in the future.
"That's the really great thing about the Marvel gig for me," he said. "I have never known if I have had a job six months out ever in my life. And I know that they have plans and I can be even more judicious about the stuff that I do outside of that work."
"Avengers: Age of Ultron" will hit theaters on May 1, 2015. Aside from Bettany, the "Avengers" sequel stars Downey, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Samuel L. Jackson and James Spader.
