'A.K.A Jessica Jones' Cast & Plot: Carrie-Anne Moss to Join Marvel's Series?

Carrie-Anne Moss is the latest addition to Marvel's A.K.A. Jessica Jones, which will be unveiled to the public this 2015 via Netflix, a report published on Monday at Marvel.com confirmed.

The 13-episode series will provide Moss a recurring role as a "no-nonsense woman who could prove to be a powerful ally to Jessica, if Jessica doesn't completely alienate her first."

According to Melissa Rosenberg, the executive producer and showrunner of the original Netflix series, Moss is capable of personifying diverse array of characters in a "compelling and relatable way." The studio head also reaffirmed the company's confidence on the capacity of Moss to bring in a considerable contribution in terms of talent to the show.

Meanwhile, Jeph Loeb, the executive producer and head of Marvel television department, echoed Rosenberg's sentiments. He added that Moss has "proven her ability to play complex characters with deep and layered inner lives." Moreover, Loeb revealed that the interactions of Jessica Jones and Moss' character will be featured as one of the highpoints of the series.

Marvel's A.K.A. Jessica Jones lead role will be played by Krysten Ritter. She also appeared in various small screen shows such as Breaking Bad, Law & Order, Gossip Girl, 'Til Death, Gilmore Girls, and Veronica Mars. Ritter was also featured in several movies like Confessions Of A Shopaholic, 27 Dresses, and What Happens In Vegas.

David Tennant will also be a part of the upcoming Marvel series as Zebediah Killgrave or Purple Man. His earlier television show appearances include Doctor Who, Rex Is Not Your Lawyer, and Duck Patrol.

Mike Colter will take part of the show as well, playing the role of Luke Cage. Colter's past television series parts included roles in The Good Wife, Halo: Nightfall, American Horror Story, and Criminal Minds.

Rounding up the list of confirmed cast members is Rachael Taylor, who will be portraying the character of Trish Walker. She appeared in various television series such as Crisis, 666 Park Avenue, and Charlie's Angels.

The show will revolve around the life of Jones, who suffered a tragic ending following her career as a super hero. She then vowed to re-establish herself both personally and professionally by pursuing a career as a detective.
