Xperia Z4 Release Date, Specs & Price: What to Expect from Sony's New Flagship Phone?

A wide range of entry-level and flagship devices from major companies are expected to be unveiled at the 2015 Mobile World Congress in March, including the upcoming Sony Xperia Z4 that is expected to come with a unique design due to a quality combination of glass and metal.

Compared to previous and current Xperia Z models, the forthcoming Xperia Z4 smartphone will reportedly be less bulky and more compact. Sony is also likely to have ensured that the screen bezels have been reduced.

When it comes to screen size and resolution, the company is less likely to follow Apple's footsteps in expanding one's screen size display through the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus.

Rather, Sony may focus more on enhancing screen resolution and is expected to unveil the Z4 model in two different versions. The first one will have a pixel density of 565 pixels per inch and supports 1440p resolution whereas the second variant will have a pixel density of 423 ppi.

The 5.2 inches to 5.5 inches display screen will feature Corning Gorilla Glass 4 technology to aid users in protecting their device's screen from minimal damages. The Xperia Z4's buttons for volume and power remain the same as its predecessor in terms of its metallic design along with the front-facing speakers.

Sony is also known to have integrated technological components that will ensure that the Xperia Z4 is waterproof and dustproof. The device will be made available in four colors -- black, white, silver and blue.

It remains uncertain, however, whether the Xperia Z4 will come with the newest Snapdragon 810 processor derived from the 64-bit architecture or be equipped with the current 32-bit Snapdragon 805 chipset that powers previous models.

Rumors have also pointed out that Sony may be unveiling two variants of the Xperia Z4 that will differ in terms of storage capacities - one with 3GB of RAM and the other with 4GB of RAM. The Xperia Z4 model may also come in 32GB, 64GB or 128GB storages. The new Sony Xperia Z4 is likely to debut with a starting price of $600 to $800.
