The second book in "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children' series, "Hollow City', has been set for a paperback release starting February 24. The novel also puts forward a preview of the third book in Ransom Riggs' young adult fiction series, the 'Library of Souls.'
"Library of Souls' has been introduced in book two in which two of the "peculiar children', Jacob and Emma, find themselves facing several supernatural elements including the ghost police and a monster full of nightmares.
Riggs' dark fantasy series has gained popularity for its distinct use of vintage images that were obtained by the author. The preview for "Library of Souls' included several photographs that are likely to be featured in book three, including one with a boy standing in the middle of a field without any shoes on.
Fans of the series can expect the release of the "Library of Souls' on September whereas a film adaptation for the first book is in the works with Tim Burton on the director's chair.
The popular 2011 novel revolves around the story of sixteen-year-old Jacob who sets off to explore the remains of a building that was said to be a former institution for children with bizarre abilities. The story takes an interesting turn when Jacob learns that Miss Peregrine's Home has not been deserted as many claim it to be.
Burton has teamed up with screenwriter Jane Goldman who has previously worked on "Kick-Ass' and "The Woman in Black.' Their adaptation of "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children' has been set to hit theaters in March of 2016, thereby the need to finalize its cast.
While Eva Green ("Dark Shadows') and Asa Butterfield ("Ender's Game') have already joined the project, Samuel L. Jackson is reportedly in talks to star in the movie as well. According to Deadline, the award-winning actor may join the cast to take on the role of Mr. Barron, a former school bus driver who has his own mysteries in the story. Butterfield and Green have been set to play the role of Jacob and Emma respectively.
Currently, Jackson has his hands full with the filming of Quentin Tarantino's latest western film "The Hateful Eight.' Fans can also expect the 66-year-old actor to appear in "Kingsman: The Secret Service', a comic book adaptation by Matthew Vaughn that was also co-written by Goldman.
