Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt are reportedly in talks to take on lead roles in "Passengers', Sony's sci-fi space drama film to be directed by Morten Tyldum who also worked on "The Imitation Game.' Tyldum will be working with Jon Spaihts ("Doctor Strange'), who will be writing the script.

"Passengers' puts forward the story of a male passenger who is onboard a spacecraft set to travel to a distant planet and wakes up from a "cyrogenic sleep' 90 years earlier than everybody else. Out of the thousands of other passengers who are making the voyage, he awakens a female passenger through which their romantic story begins.

Representing the Original Film banner, Neal Moritz and Ori Marmur have been set to produce the film. They will also be joined by Start Media's Michael Maher and Company Films' Stephen Hamel.

Sony's acquisition of the film's rights have come a long way; after Weinstein Co. decided to drop the movie in 2014, several actors were in talks to star in the movie including Keanu Reeves, Reese Witherspoon and Rachel McAdams.

While fans of both Lawrence and Pratt have something to look forward to in a possible on-screen romance of the two stars, ScreenRant pushes a reminder that these celebs have not yet confirmed that they have signed on to "Passengers.'

Pratt has a tight schedule after being in talks to star as Dr. Henry Jones in the upcoming "Indiana Jones' reboot. The 35 year-old actor will also appear in the "Jurassic Park' sequel, "Jurassic World.' and will also begin filming the remake of the classic western "The Magnificent Seven' with Denzel Washington this spring.

While Pratt was reportedly asked to play the role of Nathan Drake in the "Uncharted' film in 2014, his commitment to other future projects including the "Guardians of the Galaxy' sequel, caused him to turn down the offer.

Lawrence also has her hands full as her film "Joy' with David O. Russell has been set for a December release this year and will also begin shooting for "X-Men: Apocalypse' in spring. Her last film "Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1' became the highest-grossing film of 2014.
