Much hype has followed the highly anticipated movie "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice," including its trailer release date.

The movie has been slated to hit theatres on March 24, 2016 and so far, fans have only been given teaser photos relating to the movie, the Master Herald reported.

Fans thought that the first official trailer will make its way to the Super Bowl 2015 on February 1, but only ended up disappointed.

After the first heartbreak, fans then presumed that the trailer will be seen alongside the release of the movie "Jupiter Ascending" on February 6, but again, it did not happen

There are two more big movies where fans can expect the trailer though, and that is "Avengers: Age of Ultron" on May 1 and "Mad Max: Fury Road" on May 15. If not, then there's always Comic Con.

Director Zack Snyder, however, gave fans something to talk about after he posted a photo of him on Instagram while on set for the movie. It was a simple photo of him directing on set, but fans were very eager for any clues they can get about the film.

The photo was suggestive in more ways than one. People assumed that the backdrop of the set was of Wayne Manor, and was filmed either for the fight scene between Superman and Zod and his armies, or the legendary battle between Batman and Superman. However, these are all guesses and the set could be actually be a different location for the movie.

This was actually the fifth photo posted by Snyder on his social media account related to the movie since December 2014. The first few photos were stills of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman. Another photo was of Batman standing beside the famed batmobile.

Warner Bros' "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" will expand the DC universe by introducing new characters that leads up to the "Justice League" movies in 2017 and 2019.

"Fast & Furious" actress Gal Gadot and "Game of Thrones" actor Jason Momoa are expected to appear as Wonder Woman and Aquaman, respectively.

Ben Affleck will take over the role of Batman from Christian Bale while Henry Cavill will reprise his role as The Man of Steel.

Jesse Eisenberg will take on the role of Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White and Diane Lane as Martha Kent.
