Spider-Man vs Iron Man in New Movie?

More news are in for the production of the 2017 Spectacular Spider-Man film. Aside from reports that a new character will be behind Spidey's mask, there is now a director who will take on the film, and fellow superhero Iron Man is allegedly going to appear in the film as well.

A Reddit user who claims to have inside sources on Spectacular Spider-Man claimed that Dylan O'Brien, the man behind the movie The Maze Runner and television show Teen Wolf has reportedly signed with Marvel and Sony to direct the film.

Screen Rant said that the Reddit user was also the same person who shared details about the Marvel and Sony deal before it was even announced, so his statements carry some serious weight.

On the other hand, Drew Goddard will reportedly be writing and co-directing the new Spider-Man film under Sony and Marvel's partnership.

Also, other new reports that surfaced reveal that there will be subsequent Spectacular Spider-Man releases over consecutive summers, and this will be manageable since the studio is looking for a much younger actor to play Spider-Man. The previous Spider-Man was 31-year-old Andrew Garfield.

As previously shared, Peter Parker will no longer be Spider-Man in the new film. Instead, the story might focus on Miles Morales, a black Hispanic teenager. Just like Parker, Morales is a nerdy kid who gets his powers from a spider bite.

But while Parker has a loving family, Morales is tormented because of his uncle who is a criminal.

To make things more interesting, Spider-Man might have a huge fight scene with Iron Man in his first movie. Iron Man's cameo would prove symbolic to the Spider-Man movie in more ways than one. This would mean that Marvel's most bankable poster boy Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark will help solidify Spider-Man's success.

Iron Man and Spider-Man also have a cameo in Captain America: Civil War, so exciting times are ahead for their characters. Many fans are guessing that his appearance in Spectacular Spider Man might mean that Stark is possibly recruiting a new member for the Avengers.

The Avengers: Age of Ultron will hit the big screen on May 1 2015, Captain America: Civil War will be on May 6, 2016. Spectacular Spider-Man has been scheduled on July 28, 2017, followed by Avengers: Infinity War - Part 1 on May 4, 2018 and Avengers: Infinity War - Part 2 on May 3 2019.
