If you think Jurassic World's scariest dinosaur the Indominus Rex is pretty cool, wait until you get a load of their seven new dinosaurs.
Screen Rant just shared seven new dinosaurs that audiences will be seeing on the Jurassic World film, and though most of them seem harmless, these dinosaurs are no pushovers.
The Metriacanthosaurus, which name means moderately-spined lizard is a fleet-footed carnosaur that once stalked ancient Jurassic plains, feeding on other dinosaurs. The dinosaur is a theropod, which is Greek for "beast foot."
The Edmontosaurus is a flat-headed duck-billed dinosaur. It is one of the nicer dinosaurs which was preyed on by the ferocious T-Rex. There is nothing this dinosaur loves more than to hang out in herd and munch on conifers and other vegetation. The Edmontosaurus is actually one of the few dinosaurs that can chew and grind veggies to pulp before swallowing.
The Dimorphodon is one of the park's pterosaurs, or flying reptiles. Its name means "two-form tooth" and it loves to soar through the skies. It has large eyes, a quick jaw and a sharp talon that enables it to catch fish or other prey easily. The dinosaur is actually a snap-feeder because of its super quick jaws.
One of the largest fish-eating dinosaurs, the Baryonyx has a crocodile-like head and dangerous claws, therefore making it a master hunter of rivers and lakes. Its name means "heavy claw" and it has a similar hunting style to that of a bear.
The Pteranodon is Jurassic World's biggest flying reptile. Its name means "toothless wing" and the dinosaur loves to eat fish. It has a wider wingspan than any known bird, and though it primarily eats fish, it has a very high aggression index, meaning this dinosaur is not something you'd like to pick a fight with. It has three clawed fingers on each hand and four clawed toes on each foot.
The Suchomimus is known for its distinctive sail on its lower back and the huge foot-long claws on each thumb that it uses to catch fish. The dinosaur's name means "crocodile mimic" because of its crocodile-like snout.
Lastly, the Microceratus just might be the smallest dinosaur in Jurassic World. It has a short frill and a beak-shaped mouth, perfect for snapping off leaves and twigs. Its name means "small-horned" and it weighs around six kilograms. The Microceratus was actually first known as the Microceratops but they lost their name to a species of wasp.
Jurassic World will make its way to cinemas on June 12, 2015.
