'Orange Is The New Black' Season 3 to Drop June 12, Will Include 14 Episodes

The cast and crew of Netflix's 'Orange Is The New Black'

The long awaited reunion for Piper, Red, Crazy Eyes and Taystee has finally been confirmed as Netflix announced this Monday that the third season of "Orange is the New Black' will premiere on June 12.

The award-winning comedy drama will have 14 episodes, which may possibly confirm some of the speculations that have been circulating about what season three will be bringing.

"OITNB' rumors include the possibility of Big Boo getting a flashback so fans will get to know more of who she is as a person. Her character appeared in the first two seasons but season three is expected to bring a bigger opportunity for her character to be understood.

However, if Big Boo will get a flashback, will she also be killed off? The series is known for showing a character's flashback only to eliminate her from the story (e.g. Tricia's case).

Another well-known spoiler is that a number of favorite characters will become series regulars. These include Gloria (Selenis Levya), Joe Caputo (Nick Sandow), Daya (Dascha Polanco), Poussey (Samira Wiley), Lorna (Yael Stone), and Black Cindy (Adrienne C. Moore).

Both Piper (Taylor Schilling) and Alex Vause (Laura Prepon) will reportedly appear in every episode for season 3. As Piper may be having more flashbacks, these may shed some light on her relationships and transformation.

A new corrections officer will also come into view as the series has cast Marsha Stephanie Black to take on the role of the new corrections officer at the Litchfield Penitentiary.

Actor Jason Biggs will not be making a comeback on the third season as his character, Larry, will not be appearing in the next 14 episodes.

Two new cast members, though, have been added; these include Tony award-winner Blair Brown and comedian Mike Birbiglia.

According to "OITNB' co-creator Jenji Kohan, season three will revolve around the concept of "faith."

Vee, played by Lorraine Toussaint, may be returning to the new season but possibly in a form of a flashback or in several episodes only owing to the fact that the actress has been set to join ABC's "Forever.' Vee may still be a recurring character on the series, as two other actors on "OITNB' are also part of other primetime shows.

These include Diane Guerrero (Martiza), who has been set to play a role on "Jane The Virgin', and Matt McGorry (John) who will be appearing as a regular on ABC's "How to Get Away with Murder.'
