American Horror Story alum Sarah Paulson has done an impressive job portraying an array of characters season after season, so everybody was pretty excited to find out what the actress thought about Hotel's newest cast member.
Lady Gaga made the announcement on her Twitter page by posting a video, saying that she will be joining American Horror Story: Hotel. "Make your reservations now," the artist wrote.
In her video, she was wearing an intricate black costume. She later unmasked herself and said huskily, "American Horror Story season 5: Hotel."
Paulson has but one thing to say about Lady Gaga's news: "It's amazing!"
Paulson told Vulture that she already knew about Lady Gaga's involvement in Hotel, but show creator Ryan Murphy has sworn her to secrecy.
"I had a bit of an inkling, because the man told me, but I kept it a secret," she said. But the secret was just too good not to share.
"I finally said to him the other day, 'If you don't announce this soon, I'm going to bust. I'm going to say something!' And he was like, 'You can't.' And I was like, 'Well, I'm going to. So get on it.' And then they have. And it was all because I made them. Not really," she laughingly said.
So far, Lady Gaga is the only actress that has been confirmed for American Horror Story season 5. One of the show's biggest stars Jessica Lange has already said that she will not be returning for the next season, while Kathy Bates teased that she might be returning for a new character.
Paulson's role in Hotel still remains undecided. She has expressed intent to be in it, but she is currently working on another one of Murphy's projects - American Crime Story. "I just feel like letting Ryan know that I am available, if he wants me," she said.
Murphy did tell E! Online earlier that Paulson will "really love" her season 5 character. And given that her Freak Show characters Bette and Dot were quite a hit with the actress, it seems like Murphy has outdone himself in creating a new one.
Interestingly, Paulson is the only American Horror Story actress to have played characters that manage to survive each season.
American Horror Story: Hotel will start filming this July and will premiere in October.
