Warner Bros. Developing Mobile Games Based on Major Titles

Warner Bros. has unveiled its list of upcoming games for mobile devices. The announcement came days after the company revealed that "Mortal Kombat X: Mobile" will arrive on Android and iOS devices in April of this year, IGN reported.

The free-to-play games listed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment are based on popular and existing franchise. Aside from NetherRealm Studios' "Mortal Kombat X," the upcoming mobile games include "Batman: Arkham Underworld," "LEGO Batman: Beyond Gotham," "DC Comics Legends" and a "Game of Thrones" mobile game.

"Our mobile business has been a key priority for the company, and we are utilizing our incredibly talented internal development teams to create games with marquee franchises," Warner Bros. executive David Haddad said in a press release.

"We've seen tremendous growth with our mobile business and expect to increase our market share by applying our best in class development, publishing and brand marketing to this impressive slate of games," he continued.

For "Arkham Underworld," players take on the role of iconic "Batman" villains such as the Riddler and Harley Quinn. They can then build their armies by recruiting thugs in order to become Gotham City's most powerful crime boss.

In "Beyond Gotham," the LEGO version of Batman travels to space to team up with other famous DC superheroes. As a team, they will have to take on the super villain Brainiac and stop him from destroying Earth.

Another superhero-themed mobile game unveiled by Warner Bros. is "DC Comics Legends." In this role-playing game, players can build teams of customized characters based on DC superheroes and villains.

Lastly, the mobile game based on the HBO television series "Game of Thrones" will take players across Westeros to engage in strategy-based combat. Just like in the series, players can forge alliances and build armies to take on other kingdoms. Warner Bros. noted that an official title for the "Game of Thrones" game is yet to be revealed.

Warner Bros. has not yet revealed the release dates for the listed mobile games but "Arkham Underworld" is already accepting registrations for its beta version through its website.
