'Criminal Minds' Season 10 Episode 18 Spoilers: Tess Harper Guest Stars; Breath Play Episode Recap

Jennifer Love-Hewitt

Fans and followers of the show, Criminal Minds, will have to wait for two more weeks before getting the chance to once again watch their beloved characters on screen as the next episode is scheduled to air on March 25, 2015, according to Cartermatt.com.

The report revealed that the airing of Criminal Minds Season 10 Episode 18 was pushed back to make way for the reality show, Survivor. CBS reportedly intends to air two hours worth of the series in an effort to provide the viewers with a complete idea of the plot prior to the onset of the May sweeps.

As for the plot of the upcoming episode, CBS revealed the following synopsis: "When the wife of an up-and-coming congressman disappears, the BAU investigates his political enemies as possible suspects." Moreover, Tess Harper, and Academy Award nominee, will guest star as the mother of the said politician.

Meanwhile, fans of Criminal Minds are left wondering on the probable direction of the show as the recent episode, titled Breath Play, already began to tackle the real life pregnancy of Jennifer Love Hewitt who plays Special Agent Kate Callahan of the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU).

As foreseen by the fans, the teenage rebellion of Kate's niece, Meg, was used as an avenue to ease in the pregnancy news. To provide a bit of context to the situation, it could be recalled that the parents of Meg died during the 9/11 attack. She was then adopted by Kate and her husband, Chris. The couple raised the child as their own but their love appeared to not have eliminated the abandonment issues dealt with by Meg. These concerns became even more apparent when the teenager realized that Kate is with child, thereby prompting the former to act out.

"She's been acting out a little bit, and we reveal it's because Kate is gonna (sic) have a baby. The fact that she and Chris decide to have a baby rocks Meg a little bit. Even though she's been raised by amazing people, there's an underlying abandonment since her parents were killed when she was very young. She's trying to deal with that and being 13 and navigate the world and see her place in it," explained Erica Messer, the executive producer of the series.

Rock Creek Park is directed by Félix Enríquez Alcalá who also worked on a number of episodes of various hit television shows such as Covert Affairs, The Good Wife, The Tomorrow People, Suits, Person of Interest, and Blue Bloods. Meanwhile, the story was written by Sharon Lee Watson who is also a co-executive producer of Criminal Minds as well as other popular small screen series including Lie To Me, The Unit, Crossing Jordan, and The Education of Max Bickford.
