Ever since news broke out that singing sensation Lady Gaga will star in American Horror Story season five Hotel, there has been a social media frenzy about her involvement, and fans have been speculating heavily what her role will be.

One of the most prominent ones obtained by Realty Today is from a Reddit user, who described her character as a "beautiful, strange, yet sophisticated heiress - knees deep in debt - who runs the hotel and will do whatever it takes to keep it up and running."

Other news websites believe that Lady Gaga's character will be a satanic cult leader as well.

It would seem like Lady Gaga will be taking on the strong female role usually given to American Horror Story alum Jessica Lange, who will sadly not star in season five. Lange played a has-been Southern belle with a mean streak in Murder House, an unforgiving nun in Asylum, then the "Supreme" witch leader in Coven, and a German carnival owner in Freak Show.

Because of her prominent American Horror Story roles, Lange has won two Emmys, a Golden Globe, and a SAG award.

Some of the show's regulars, including Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, and Frances Conroy have not yet confirmed whether or not they'll be back for the next season.

Aside from Lady Gaga's role, fans are wondering how Hotel will tie up to the other seasons, since show creator Ryan Murphy revealed last year that all of the seasons, despite having completely different stories, are connected to one another.

"They're all connected," Murphy told Entertainment Weekly. "We're just beginning to tell you how they're connected. They're all very separate, but, there're clues every season that we're now telling you how the different worlds are intertwined."

The first revelation about the shows' connection was made in Freak Show, through the character of Pepper. Elsa Mars refused to let her beloved original freak be killed off, so she sent her back to her sister in hopes that her sister will care for Pepper the same way she did.

But Pepper's sister was rotten to the core, and together with her husband, she framed Pepper for the murder of her son, who incidentally is a freak just like Pepper. She was then sent to the asylum Briarcliff Manor, where she meets Lily Rabe's character Sister Mary Eunice, right before she was possessed by the devil.
