'American Horror Story: Hotel' Cast: Matt Bomer Signs On as Male Lead, Jessica Lange Confirms Exit from Show

After introducing Michael Chiklis as one of the main stars in "American Horror Story: Freak Show' at PaleyFest in 2014, the anthology series from FX used its yearly appearance at the event to unveil the male leads in season five titled "Hotel.'

Last Sunday, it was announced at the Paleyfest's closing night that Matt Bomer and Cheyenne Jackson have been set to join the cast of "American Horror Story: Hotel.' Actress Jessica Lange, who has starred in the past four seasons of the series, confirmed that she will not be coming back for the fifth season.

"It was my absolute favorite," the Emmy-award winning actress said after acknowledging her fellow cast members as well as the series creators. "We had a great run."

With Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk running the show, the fifth season will star Lady Gaga and is expected to take place at a haunted hotel.

Although there have been limited details when it comes to the plot, fans can look forward to Bomer being the male lead while Jackson joins the company. Signing on to "Hotel' marks the actors' most recent collaboration with showrunner Murphy.

After starring in USA Network series "White Collar' that ended in December, Bomer bagged an Emmy nomination for his supporting role in Murphy's TV movie "The Normal Heart.' The 37-year-old actor also appeared on Murphy's "Glee' as he portrayed Darren Criss' older brother.

Meanwhile, Jackson appeared in Murphy's HBO pilot "Open' and also made an appearance on "Glee' as a rival coach.

"I can't confirm or deny that there may be a romantic relationship," Bomer shared when asked about his onscreen relationship with Lady Gaga, saying that he was ready for any unexpected circumstances that the show's writers may be planning.

Being cast in "Hotel' will be Bomer's second opportunity to star in the anthology series, as he previously appeared for a one-episode guest role last season. On the other hand, this will be the first time that Jackson will star in "American Horror Story.'

According to the 39-year-old actor, the FX series is one of his favorite shows on TV but he knows nothing about the role that he will portray. Nonetheless, Jackson said he is nervous but "ready to jump in."

Bomer and Jackson have been the second and third cast members confirmed for the fifth season of "American Horror Story' as they join Lady Gaga. "Coven' and "Freak Show' actress Kathy Bates will reportedly return to the series.
