Acer is preparing to launch the upgraded version of its Chromebook C910 in April of this year.

The upgraded model is powered by the Intel Core i5 processor and has a retail price of $499.99, Techno Buffalo reported.

The tech firm released the first Chromebook C910 model in January along with the Chromebook C740. According to the company, the laptops were designed specifically to meet the needs of students. The first version of the Chromebook C910 is powered by the 5th Generation Intel Core i3-5005U processor and was sold at a relatively low price of $299.99.

For the new Chromebook C910, Acer retained the 15.6-inch display and still has a 1920x1080p full HD resolution. It also has 4GB of RAM and 32GB of SSD storage. The latest model also has the same weight and size as its predecessor. In addition, it has a battery life that can last up to eight hours.

Aside from these features, Acer conducted improvements for the latest Chromebook C910 model to better serve its student users. The company claimed that its new Intel Core i5 processor gives the laptop a more efficient performance.

"The new faster performing Acer C910 Chromebook with an Intel Core i5 processor is raising the bar for Chromebookperformance," Carlos Siqueiros, the Mobility Business Manager for Acer America said in a statement.

"The advanced technology will boost productivity and help our education and commercial customers get the most out of their Chromebook experience for collaboration on important projects and research," the executive added.

Apart from the processor, Acer also improved the overall exterior design of the new Chromebook C910, according to NDTV. The company used a stronger material for the laptop's outer shell and claimed it can withstand pressing force of up to 60 kilograms. In addition, the device's hinges have been reinforced to survive drops from heights of up to 45 centimeters.
