American actor and comedian Will Ferrell received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday, March 24. Ferrell is also a writer and producer.

It is the 2547th star on the world-renown Walk of Fame. Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and the cast of "Get Hard' were amongst those who attended the ceremony.

"I feel so fortunate and yet I can't accept this award. So, just cover it up. Cover it up for someone else," Ferrell said in a broadcast by ABC news. "No, no, I'm kidding."

Ferrell is famous for his roles in "Talladega Nights,' "Elf,' "Step Brothers,' and "Anchorman.' His most recent film is "Get Hard.' Actor Kevin Hart and rapper T.I. are members of the movie cast. The movie is a comedy about a man who is wrongfully accused of tax evasion. "Get Hard," premiered in theaters on Friday, March 27.

Actor John C. Reilly wrote a poem for Ferrell and read it at the ceremony. Reilly has made multiple appearances in films alongside Ferrell. Reilly appeared in "Talladega Nights' and "Step Brothers.'

Ferrell graduated from the University of Southern California in 1990. He has a bachelor's degree in Sports Information. He is a fan of the Trojan football team. Ferrell went into comedy when he realized that he did not want to broadcast sports for a living.

He moved to Los Angeles and did stand up comedy. Eventually he was doing sketches on NBC's "Saturday Night Live.' Ferrell was the highest paid cast member of the show in year 2001.

The actor has won two EPSY Awards for Best Sports Movie, the Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie Actor, and the Spike TV Guys' Choice Award for Most Viral Video.
