iPhone 6s, 7 Rumors: Apple Rumored To Launch 3 iPhones This Year

The iPhone is probably the most popular smartphone in the world, that is because whether people buy it or not, it still remains one of the most recognized devices around.

Earlier this year, Apple showed proof that its latest iPhones have exceeded their expectations after posting a $74.6 billion in revenues - and that's just during the final quarter of 2014.

This just means that the Cupertino manufacturer has successfully implemented its first dip in the phablet category.

But now, new rumors are claiming that Apple may be aiming higher this year. Earlier this month, the company unveiled its latest MacBook lineup, composed of the new ultrathin MacBook 2015, and the updated MacBook Airs and Pros. The Apple Watch has already been released, and rumors are still claiming that an iPad Pro is still on its way.

However, as far as the iPhones are concerned, Apple will reportedly unveil not one, not two, but three different iPhone versions this year.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the Cupertino-based manufacturer will unveil successors to its two recent iPhones, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. In the report, industry insiders revealed that Apple is now working on an iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus - probably with similar dimensions and look, but with different specs - as one can expect from an 'S' release.

However, an interesting rumor that was pointed out was that Apple is allegedly working on another 'C' variant, which will be the direct successor of the iPhone 5c, launched a couple of years ago.

Based on what the iPhone 5c was like, this iPhone 6c could boast similar or even identical specs to the current iPhone 6, but with a plastic and colorful shell.

The three rumored iPhone devices will reportedly pack LTPS panels that are manufactured by Japan Display, LG and Sharp. The two higher-end models are slated to get a new A9 chipset from Apple, while the 'midrange' iPhone 6c is tipped to retain the old A8 chip.

In terms of RAM amount, the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are both rumored to get 2GB of RAM - making them the first iPhones to run with more than 1GB of RAM.

Rounding up the rumored specs for the three devices include NFC support, a fingerprint scanning home button, and even the rumored Force Touch technology.

Still, readers better take these rumors with a grain of salt, and wait for Apple's official announcements.
