Microsoft has officially announced the lineup of free games that will be included in the May edition of its Games with Gold program.

For an entire month, gamers with Xbox Live Gold memberships will be able to download and play four new games for free.

For Xbox One gamers, they'll get to enjoy "Pool Nation FX" and "CastleStorm: Definitive Edition" from May 1 to 31, according to Game Spot.

"Pool Nation FX" is a sport-themed physics-based simulation game that was released in early April of this year by Cherry Pop Games.

"CastleStorm: Definitive Edition," on the other hand, is the re-mastered version of "CastleStorm" that first came out in May 2013. It is a tower-defense game that also involves using military units and magical spells to attack the fortresses of opponents.

For the Xbox 360, Microsoft has released two free games that will be available during the first and second halves of May.

"Mafia II," the 2010 game from development studio 2K Czech, can be accessed through Games with Gold from May 1 to 15. It is a third-person open-world game set between 1940 and 1950. Players take on the role of immigrant Vito Scaletta as he attempts to become the highest ranking crime lord in Empire Bay, the game's fictional city.

The second free game, "F1 2013," will be available from May 16 to 31. From development studio Codemasters, the racing simulation game first came out in October, 2013 for the Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Mac platforms.

Its game play, characters and featured cars are all based on the actual racing event, the 2013 Formula One Season. According to Microsoft, the game received positive reviews after its release due to its realism, Xbox Wire reported.

Microsoft noted that like in the previous editions of the program, this May's Games with Gold will be offered for a limited time only.
