Taylor Swift has been widely known to care very much for all her fans and followers, and she shows her gratitude and affection for them by sending them surprises she personally makes or donating to charitable causes. Now, the singer and songwriter managed to make another fan's life brighter by taking time off from her hectic schedule and calling a 12-year-old battling an aggressive form of cancer, according to NBC Chicago.

Emily Beazley has been suffering from a type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma for years. Up until recently, she and her family had been going in and out of medical institutions in an effort to prolong her life and make it as enjoyable as possible. However, devastating news welcomed the family last week as Emily's doctors admitted that they have already exhausted all measures to cure the illness. Hence, nothing else could be done for the young girl at this point.

While Emily's condition worsened, her family members and friends tried to find ways to make the 12-year-old's situation a bit better. After learning that she has always been an avid fan of the Grammy-award winning artist, Swift, Emily's loved ones immediately took advantage of social media platforms to catch the singer's attention.

Amy Waszczyk posted on Twitter, "@taylorswift13 Emily Beazley is a 12yr old fighting cancer. She isn't doing well. Wld luv to talk to her idol YOU!" Another Twitter user, Elena Delle Donne, posted, "Chicago! RT to help the incredibly brave #EmilyBeazley meet @taylorswift13 when she comes to town. #EmilyStrong."

The efforts of Emily's loved ones and even those extended by virtual strangers finally paid off when Swift herself called the little girl. Nadia Beazley, Emily's mother, shared that they got the call from widely popular star on Tuesday at around 5:00 in the afternoon. She disclosed that they were stunned by the singer's effort and expressed their gratitude over it.

"When she (Emily) was on the phone, she was completely star-struck," revealed Nadia, adding that her daughter's awe at the fact that she was actually speaking to Swift herself was apparent in her facial expressions. "Emily thanked her for her music and told her what her music meant to her," the excited mom disclosed.

Nadia then went on to share, "The smile on my daughter [is one] I have not seen in a very, very long time." She added, "I could cry."

In an earlier report, Swift revealed that her own mother had been diagnosed with cancer. "She wanted you to know because your parents may be too busy juggling everything they've got going on to go to the doctor," the singer wrote in her Tumblr account, explaining her mother's decision to share her condition to the public.

"Maybe you reminding them to go get checked for cancer could possibly lead to an early diagnosis and an easier battle. Or peace of mind in knowing that they're healthy and there's nothing to worry about," the artist stated. "She wanted you to know why she may not be at as many shows this tour. She's got an important battle to fight," Swift added.
