Nexus 5 Specs, Price, and Battery Life: When Is the Release Date for the 2nd Generation Device?

The next generation of Google's Nexus Android smartphone devices are confirmed to be made in China through Huawei. The news was confirmed by Kevin Yang, the director of China research at iSuppli, a technology research and information company. Google I/O 2015 developers' conference in San Francisco will shed more light on the second generation of Nexus devices. Android M is likely to make its debut at the Moscone West Convention Center on May 28-29.

The current Nexus 5 has a 4.95" 1920x1080 display, 2300 mAh battery, an 8 mega pixel rear-facing camera and a 1.3 mega pixel front-facing camera, a Qualcomm Snapdragonâ„¢ 800, 2.26GHz processor CPU, and it comes in either a 16 gigabyte or 32 gigabyte memory size. The Nexus 5 weighs 4.59 ounces (130 grams). Its size is 69.17 x 137.84 x 8.59 millimeters. The cost of the Nexus 5 is $349.

Made with Corning® Gorilla® Glass 3, its display is nearly 5 inches of high definition images. The display downplays glare and provides a wide angle view for users to enjoy. The device runs on Android's latest update, the 5.0 Lollipop.

The battery life allows users 8.5 hours of internet use on Wi-Fi and up to 7 hours on LTE. It allows for 17 hours of talk time. Standby battery life is up to 300 hours. Wireless charging is built into the device.

The camera's capability allows users to use an HDR+ camera to capture images in 360 degree angles. Photos can also be combined to create a smartphone movie. The Auto Awesome feature in the camera makes photos look sharp and clear with Optical Image Stabilization.
