Floyd Mayweather Jr. said he will fight in September and it will be probably be the final fight of his illustrious career. And this early, several fighters are already expressing interest in facing the unbeaten world champion, who improved to 48-0 after defeating Manny Pacquiao last week.

Saul "Canelo" Alvarez said that he would love to get another shot against Mayweather in September. The Mexican boxing superstar took a majority decision loss against the reigning pound-for-pound king in September 2013.

However, Alvarez said that he will think about the possible rematch after his scheduled showdown against James Kirkland on Saturday night at the Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas.

Alvarez said in an interview with BoxingScene that he is strongly interested in a rematch because he feels he has learned a lot since losing to Mayweather, which is still the lone defeat of his boxing career.

Golovkin, the reigning World Boxing Association and International Boxing Organization middleweight champion, is also eyeing a showdown against Mayweather.

However, previous reports indicated that the Mayweather-Golovkin bout is highly unlikely because of the weight disparity. Mayweather fought at 147 pounds against Pacquiao, while Golovkin is more comfortable at 160 pounds.

Golovkin, who holds a perfect 32-0 record with 29 knockout victories, also needs to win against Willie Monroe on May 16 if he wants to move one step closer to getting a shot against Mayweather.

Miguel Cotto, who will defend his World Boxing Council middleweight title against Daniel Geale on June 6 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, is not talking about a rematch against Mayweather, but his representatives are.

Gaby Peñagarícano, Cotto's adviser, said that the Puerto Rican champion is focused on his upcoming fight against Geale, but quickly added that they are also eyeing a rematch against Mayweather, which he thinks will be a mega fight if it comes to fruition.

"I have no doubt that it would be a mega fight," Peñagarícano told El Vocero. "It would generate a lot of interest, and it would be one of the fights that we would want. But as I said, it's nothing that we are looking at now. We have a commitment on June 6 and we are not looking there now."

Cotto, who took a unanimous decision loss to Mayweather in their welterweight title fight in May 2012, is also being linked to a showdown against Canelo Alvarez. He will likely lose his WBC middleweight title as well if he declines to defend it against Golovkin, who is the mandatory challenger for the title.
