iPhone 6S Rumors & Specs: Apple Insider Reveals Features of Upcoming Smartphone

An insider has leaked the possible specs of the rumored upcoming smartphone from Apple, the iPhone 6S.

The details of the device were revealed by KGI Securities analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, who is also a reliable source when it comes to updates regarding Apple's upcoming products.

Tech news site Apple Insider was able to obtain the notes Kuo presented to the Cupertino-based company's investors during a private meeting.

According to Kuo, the iPhone 6S models will sport a 4.7 and 5.5-inch displays and will feature the same resolution as existing Apple smartphone models. For the handset's chipset, Kuo said Apple will power the iPhone 6S with the upgraded A9 processor with 2GB LPDDR4.

For its main camera, the iPhone 6S might sport a 12-megapixel rear shooter.

In an effort to avoid the iPhone 6's Bendgate problem, the analyst noted that Apple will redesign the iPhone 6S' internal mechanisms as well as the material that will be used for its outer shell.

The device will also have an additional microphone near its speaker to provide better voice quality during calls.

As for the handset's available colors, Kuo said Apple will release a rose gold variant of the iPhone 6S to match the same design of the Apple Watch Edition.

The analyst did not mention when Apple might unveil its latest smartphone but according to his notes, the company might begin manufacturing it sometime in August of this year. Apple is reportedly targeting to ship out 80 to 90 million units this year.

Based on the details leaked by Kuo, it seems that Apple will not be launching a 4-inch iPhone model, as pointed out by Forbes.

Despite this, the main selling point of the iPhone 6S will be its featured Force Touch technology. As previously explained, this concept equips the display with sensors that can detect varying pressure levels applied by users with their fingers. This will allow users to operate and control the device's various functions depending on the level of pressure applied on its screen.

With this feature, the upcoming handset will be able to offer users more interface and input options.
