'The Voice' is an American reality television singing competition show. Maroon 5's lead vocalist Adam Levine, country singer Blake Shelton, pop singer Christina Aguilera, and music producer Pharrell Williams make up a panel of four judges. The celebrity judges coach their respective team members and prep them for weekly performances.
The judges determine which singers will be on their team during a series of blind auditions. The judges are not allowed to see the contestants during the audition and must make their decisions based on the voices they hear. Each week, contestants compete to be saved from eliminations. America gets to vote online, by text, phone calls, and by iTunes purchases to save their favorite artist. The season's winner receives a $100,000 cash prize and a recording contract with Universal Music Group.
Davis sang "I Can't Make You Love Me" by Bonnie Raitt and "When I Paint My Masterpiece" by The Band. Hawthorne sang "One" by U2 and "Oh Mary, Don't You Weep" by Bruce Springsteen. Linsey sang "I'm Not The Only One" by Sam Smith and "Tennessee Whiskey" by Chris Stapleton. Carney sang "Gravity" by Sara Bareilles and "Earth Song" by Michael Jackson. Fredericks sang "For What It's Worth" by Buffalo Springfield and "A Thousand Years" by Christina Perri.
Carney and Hawthorne performed again on Tuesday, May 12 to determine who would be eliminated from the show. Carney sang "Dark Side" by Kelly Clarkson while Hawthorne sang "If I Were A Boy" by Beyonce. Carney was eliminated from the round. Four contestants remain in the competition for Week 7's final round.
All of Aguilera's team members have been eliminated, while the other three judges have at least one remaining member. Williams has two members, Hawthorne and Fredericks. Levine has Davis and Shelton has Linsey. The show's host is Carson Daly. Past winners of the show are Javier Colon, Jermaine Paul, Cassadee Pope, Danielle Bradbery, Tessanne Chin, Josh Kaufman, and Craig Wayne Boyd.
