Lex Luthor in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice Will Be Different From What Fans Are Used To

Batman: Arkham Knight

The main villain in Warner Bros' upcoming superhero flick Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice will feature a much different Lex Luthor than fans are used to seeing.

According to the International Business Times, Luthor who will be played by The Social Network actor Jesse Eisenberg will be wearing a green and purple suit from the comic books and video games.

This will actually be the first time Luthor dons a battle suit in the movies, since previous actors who took on the role in the past such as Gene Hackman and Kevin Spacey did not wear any.

The Lex Luthor battle suit is said to be similar in design to the "many variations we've seen in the past," and it will also reportedly fit the "style and look" of the movie and the DC Cinematic Universe

They also teased that Luthor will be seen in an action sequence, but it remains unclear how long the character will be seen in the sequence or when he will be donning his battle suit.

Eisenberg told JoBlo that his Luthor will be a pretty exciting villain to contend with. "He's not any of the Lexes that you've seen, that's for sure. Other than him being a captain of industry and one person to the world and another person to himself. And bald, of course," he said. "Our Lex is disarming and he's not fake. He says what he believes and he says what's on his mind. If you can unravel the string and decipher what he means, it's all there."

At the same time, "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" is said to have a strong connection to the 2013 movie "Man Of Steel," which stars Henry Cavill as Superman and Amy Adams as fearless reporter Lois Lane, since it will pick up from where "Man of Steel" left off.

It will show the aftermath of General Zod's attack and attempt to take over the Earth, until they were defeated by Superman.

According to several fan theories, Luthor will be using Kryptonian technology brought to Earth by General Zod to create his battle suit, and he will also be getting some help from Doomsday to take on the superheroes Batman and Superman. However, there has been no confirmation yet whether or not the comic book character Doomsday will indeed be appearing in the new movie.

"Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" is currently in post-production. Apart from those mentioned, it will also star Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, and Ezra Miller as The Flash. The movie is directed by Zack Snyder.
