iPhone 6S Specs, Rumors & Release Date: Apple to Launch New Smartphone in August & Not September?

A reliable insider claimed that Apple is preparing to unveil the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus sometime in August.

After the official launch, the handsets are expected to hit the market around a month later, BGR reported.

Ming Chi Kuo, an analyst for KGI Securities and a trustworthy source when it comes to Apple's upcoming products, noted that the Cupertino-based form is targeting an earlier launch date than what was previously expected.

He added that Apple has partnered with manufacturing firm Foxconn to handle the assembly process of its latest handset devices.

As to why Apple decided to unveil the iPhone 6S line at an earlier schedule, rumors suggest that it was driven by the abundance of parts for the upcoming smartphone.

Regarding the devices' specs, Kuo previously revealed that the release of the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus means that Apple is not working on a 4-inch handset. The iPhone 6S will come with a 4.7-inch display while its Plus variant will sport a 5.5-inch screen.

Both devices are expected to come with Force Tough technology which will provide users a variety of control options based on the level of pressure applied on the screen by their fingertips.

Apple has not yet provided an official statement to answer the rumors or announce the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus' launch dates. On the other hand, its competitor, Samsung, already said that it is not planning on beating Apple with an early release date.

Previously, the South Korean tech giant was rumored to be preparing to unveil the Galaxy Note 5 in July, months ahead of the alleged release of the iPhone 6S.

However, recently, Shin Jong-Kyun, the president of Samsung, said that this is not true and goes against the company's traditional release schedule, which is around September, according to Value Walk.

With the Galaxy Note 5 slated t be introduced in September and the iPhone 6S in August, it seems Apple is the one aiming to stay ahead in the smartphone race.
