The "Deadpool' set recently welcomed a special guest, thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Tony Acevedo, a young cancer patient, was able to meet Ryan Reynolds in his "Deadpool' costume and became Merc with a Mouth himself for the day.

Acevedo suffers from Hodgkin Disease, a type of lymphoma, and his wish was to visit the Vancouver set where "Deadpool' is currently being filmed.

As Reynolds shared on Instagram, "I wasn't expecting him to sneak the mask, put on the gloves, smile"¦ and then beat Deadpool about the face, arms and jugular with blazing speed."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, a Make-A-Wish spokesperson shared that Acevedo wanted to meet this fictional character because "Deadpool never dies."

The Make-A-Wish Foundation moment took place only a week after the 38-year-old actor gave Deadpool's katana sword to Calista King, a 15-year-old who underwent surgery for malignant brain tumors.

Reynolds is also a member of the board of directors for actor Michael J. Fox's foundation because of his own father Jim's struggle with Parkinson's disease for 20 years.

Cancer is strongly correlated with Reynolds' character, who was also in a battle with such disease before acquiring accelerated healing powers.

Based on the story of one of Marvel's most unconventional and eccentric anti-heroes, "Deadpool' focuses on Wade Wilson, an ex-operative from the Special Forces who become a mercenary.

After he was caused to undergo a rogue experiment, Wilson was left with impressive healing powers and consequently adopted the alter ego Deadpool. Harnessing his new abilities with his dark sense of humor, Deadpool goes on a search for the man who almost destroyed his life.

With Reynolds starring as the title character, other cast members include TJ Miller as Weasel, Gina Carano as Angel Dust, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Morena Baccarin as Copycat and Ed Skrein as Ajax.

The upcoming movie will also feature the mutant Colossus, although Daniel Cudmore has already confirmed he will not be portraying the character.

Based on the script by "Zombieland' writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, Tim Miller has helmed "Deadpool', which has been confirmed to be rated R. It is set for an official release on Feb. 12, 2016.

Reynolds will also appear as Young Damian in the sci-fi movie Self/less helmed by Tarsem Singh and is for a release on July 10; the film also stars Ben Kingsley "Iron Man 3', Michelle Dockery ("Downton Abbey') and Matthew Goode ("The Imitation Game').
