The members of Lord Jesus Korean Presbyterian Church (PCUSA) invited and were able to fellowship with 35 women who are homeless from June 6 to 13.

This is the 11th year that Lord Jesus Church participated in this room and board ministry for those who are homeless, as a part of CARITAS (Congregations Around Richmond Involved To Assure Shelter). CARITAS (which, in Latin, means "charity," or "Christ's love toward people") is a unique ministry that partners with 155 volunteers in churches and non-profit organizations in Richmond to take care of various groups of those who are homeless, including women's groups, men's groups, and familial groups.

During this year's CARITAS for Lord Jesus Church, members of the church from children to the elderly participated in serving through food, laundry, shower, and hospitality, sharing Christ's love to the women.

Lord Jesus Church, which has been centered on the theme, 'The missional church united in serving others,' has been regularly participating in such social and community service efforts. Every Saturday, the church has been reaching out to those who are homeless at Monroe Park, and helping repair homes or build wheelchair ramps for elderly men and women who are living alone. The church also participates in a musical festival with other, multi-ethnic churches every other year, and will be hosting a Korean food and culture festival this upcoming October.
