Jesse Eisenberg of "The Social Network" will be playing the antagonist Lex Luthor in the upcoming "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" film, and his performance in the movie has been given so much hype that most of his interviews have revolved around Luthor.

The actor has gamely responded to queries while at the same time maintaining the air of mystery of his new role. While he was out promoting his other movie "The End of the Tour," Eisenberg was asked by MTV how his portrayal will differ from Gene Hackman's Luthor in the 1978 Superman flick.

"There's an emotional core to the character," he said. "It's not a silly villainous character. It is an entirely different thing. Also, the tone of that Superman movie is so different. Like, that movie wouldn't be made now. Like, the way we expect movies to be now is to have some kind of - I mean, it's probably for the best - there's some kind of psychological accuracy - that the person is coming from a place probably diagnosable in some way."

It's very clear how much Eisenberg loves his new character, and fans of the movie can be certain that he will deliver one heck of a performance. The actor earlier gushed about the movie's script, saying that the writer was able to come up with amazing dialogue of the characters.

"I like what this writer does, this guy Chris Terrio. He wrote this movie we did and I just think he's so great. He's such a good writer. I like what he does with characters, I like what he does with wordplay and cleverness. I like anything he writes," Eisenberg told Collider in a different interview.

Another thing that has gotten fans excited about "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is the fight scene involving two of DC's hottest superheroes - Batman (played by Ben Affleck) and Superman (Henry Cavill).

However, this epic battle might not even ensue, according to Cavill. "Superman wouldn't get into a cage fight with just anyone," he told WWD. "Imagine, you wouldn't get into a fight with someone if they hit you and you didn't feel it, barely registered it. Superman wouldn't even notice; he's not quick to engage."

The film is directed by Zack Snyder and aside from Cavill, Affleck, and Eisenberg, other cast members include Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter, Jason Momoa and Gal Gadot.

"Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" will open in theaters on March 25, 2016.
