Although "Thor: Ragnarok," otherwise known as "Thor 3," is still two years away from hitting the big screen, fans and followers of the Norse god and his adventures are clamoring for more information regarding the franchise. In an interview with Popcorn Talk, the editor in chief and founder of Heroic Hollwood, Umberto Gonzales, revealed that the third installment is eyeing Kenneth Branagh to helm "Thor 3."
"I was hearing that Marvel wanted Kenneth Branagh back for Thor 3," Gonzales said in the interview (via Joblo). He added, "But, he just got an offer to direct Murder On The Orient Express at Fox. So, I don't know if it is going to happen or not. They're thinking about bringing him back into the fold."
While the plot of the upcoming film remains unknown, some reports speculate on the potential deaths to occur in "Thor: Ragnarok." Den of Geek claims that the film will feature the death of the superhero, Thor, if the events in the comic book series will be relied on. Meanwhile, Venture Capital Post mentions that Loki, played by Tom Hiddleston, might be the one to meet his end in "Thor: Ragnarok." However, the same report contradicts the claims and cites the multi-contract signed by the actor which signifies his status in the Marvel Universe.
"I like to think it's a natural evolution based on what has come before and where we want to go," Kevin Feige explained in an interview with Screen Rant, referring to the changes in the Marvel superhero characters from the comic books to the big screen. He added, "In general, the tone of all of our movies are equal parts very very serious and lovingly respectful and humorous and funny and some more than others."
Feige went on to discuss the manner by which the studio handles the pivotal scenes of the Marvel films. He said, "I think that is our default tone because that's the kind of movie we want to see and to make. Sometimes as in Winter Soldier, the storyline calls for it to be a little more serious. Sometimes like in Guardians, there are incredibly emotional moments and very serious moments like in the opening of the film but also liberties to be much funnier and much sillier." He continued, "We like having both ends of the spectrum to play with in all of our films and franchises, regardless of what the A plot is."
"Thor: Ragnarok" will hit theatres on July 28, 2017.
