Music star Beyonce Knowles is reportedly in negotiations to take on the role of a superhero in an upcoming Marvel movie.

The singer-actress, who last made a major onscreen appearance in the 2009 thriller film "Obsessed,' is rumored to be in talks to sign on as a new recruit for "The Avengers.'

Marvel's team of superheroes will once again assemble in a two-part sequel for "The Avengers: Infinity War' with which Part 1 and Part 2 are scheduled for a release in 2018 and 2019.

"We would love to have Beyoncé on board, almost certainly as a newcomer to the screen from Marvel's existing catalogue of comic book characters," a senior Disney executive reportedly said in an interview with The Daily Star.

It has also been reported that movie studio executives are impressed with Beyonce's huge fan base and is willing to support her role in upcoming movies, thereby greatly contributing to the huge revenues of the widely popular franchise.

The latest Avengers movie, "Age Of Ultron,' made its way to cinemas in April 2015 and raked in over $1 billion in the global box office.

The multi-platinum recording artist is expected to play fan-favorite characters from Marvel, such as Boom-Boom who is a secret agent capable of generating plasma bombs using her mind.

The former Destiny's Child star could also take on the role of crime-fighting Tigra who boasts superhuman strength and speed.

If she portrays Blink, she can have the ability to teleport herself and even the people around her.

If Beyonce does sign on to play a role for the upcoming "Avengers' film, she would be joining a star-studded ensemble cast that is led by Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Samuel Jackson and Elizabeth Olsen.

Beyonce's widely recognized roles in movies to date include 2002's "Austin Powers In Goldmember' as well as 2006's "The Pink Panther.'

She also starred in 2006's "Dreamgirls,' which earned her a Golden Globe nomination.

In addition, Jay-Z's wife recently made a cameo appearance in Madonna's music video together with Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry.

Along with her husband and three-year-old daughter Blue Ivy, Beyonce has relocated from their dearly loved home in New York City to another luxurious home in Los Angeles' Holmby Hills to further boost the Grammy Award winner's movie career.

In 2008, the "Beautiful Nightmare' singer had been tapped to play the new Wonder Woman but was later rivaled by actress Gal Gadot, who was eventually chosen for the role.
