While some celebrities relaxed with friends and family, others blended work and fun on Independence Day 2015. Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris had a barbecue, Gigi Hadid hung out with Martha Hunt, Jason Derulo hosted "American Top 40,' Usher celebrated black history, Serayah was with Swift's gang, Demi Lovato promoted "Cool for the Summer," and Bella Thorne baked cupcakes.

Swift and Harris, one of Hollywood's hottest couples invited their celebrity friends over to Swift's house in Rhode Island. They were spotted having a swan pool party, cooking, and piggybacking. In other words, they had a blast on 4th of July weekend along with Joe Jonas, Gigi Hadid, HAIM, Martha Hunt, Serayah, and BritMaak.

Lovato performed and promoted her latest single "Cool for the Summer" at Lake Minnetonka, Minnesota. She sported neon green shades, a swimsuit, and a hot pink bathrobe at 101.3 KDWB radio station's lakeside party. The EDM, synthpop single is on her upcoming fifth studio album. Singer Nick Jonas recently showed his support by making a surprise appearance during her tour in Chicago.

Thorne baked two dozen 4th of July themed cupcakes. The homemade goods were an assortment of vanilla and chocolate cupcakes, topped with chocolate and vanilla frosting. They were decorated with red sugar sprinkles and edible pearly white beads, topped with little silver stars. Fans complimented her cooking skills while wishing the actress a "Happy Independence Day."

Usher tweeted a countdown for Independence Day, while asking fans a looming question. "Have we truly achieved our Independence?" queried the singer. Rather than celebrating a traditional 4th of July, Usher raised awareness for Juneteenth (Freedom Day), celebrating the anniversary of the emancipation of African American slaves in the U.S.

Derulo hyped up fans for "American Top 40,' a music chart radio program hosted by Ryan Seacrest. Derulo's song "Want To Want Me' tops the chart at No.1, with Wiz Khalifa's "See You Again feat. Charlie Puth' at 2nd. "Shut Up + Dance' by Walk The Moon is No. 3 and "Bad Blood feat. Kendrick Lamar' is at 4th.
