After the release of the latest "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' photos, including Entertainment Weekly's Comic-Con issue cover featuring Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman, director Zack Snyder has opened up about how relevant Gal Gadot's female superhero character will be.

"She plays a super-important part," Snyder shared. "In a lot of ways, she's the gateway drug to ?the rest of the Justice League."

The actress herself also shared her sentiments on playing the well-loved Wonder Woman and said, "There are so many expectations for this character, it's impossible not to? be a little nervous about it."

Gadot opened up about loving the learning process, such as "doing the swordplay stuff. It's another skill to add to my collection."

When it comes to her traditional lasso, though, she said, "I'm still working on that."

Moviegoers could be having a first glimpse of Wonder Woman in civilian mode where Gadot's character appears to be flirting with Bruce Wayne, as seen in one of the photos revealed. This could be compared to Christopher Nolan's approach in introducing Selina Kyle aka Catwoman in "The Dark Knight Rises.'

"I love the fact that there was this Thomas Crowne Affair, Bond-y sexy scene that they wrote about two people who are pretending to be two different people who each know the secrets of the other person," Ben Affleck, who plays Batman, said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

In addition, when it comes to the big brawl between the two superheroes, this has been compared to the events in Frank Miller's graphic novel "The Dark Knight Returns' in which Batman battles it out with Superman through the aid of kryptonite and a fully armored suit, right after Kal-El survived the explosion from a nuclear warhead.

Similarly, "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' will reportedly demonstrate a "climactic rooftop brawl" in which Batman will be sporting a "reinforced mech-suit quipped with strength-augmenting armor and, yes, kryptonite."

Aside from Affleck and Gadot, other cast members of the highly anticipated film include Henry Cavill as Superman himself. Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane are set to reprise their roles from "Man of Steel.'

Jesse Eisenberg signs on as Lex Luthor while Jeremy Irons will make a special appearance as Alfred. In addition, Jason Momoa is set for a cameo role as Aquaman.

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' is set for an official release on Mar. 25, 2016.
