OnePlus One

The design and specs of the OnePlus 2 have been revealed in the database of a certification agency.

Details of OnePlus' upcoming flagship smartphone were spotted in Tenaa's website, a regulatory agency based in China

For the past few months, OnePlus has been trying its best to keep the features of its next device a secret. Although there have already been leaks, the company has managed to release only a few tidbits regarding the 2.

However, in order for the device to get certified in OnePlus' home country, some of the device's details including images of it have to be submitted to Tenaa.

Because of this, consumers now have the chance to get a glimpse of the highly anticipated device that is scheduled to launch on July 27. Also, the appearance of the 2 in the agency's website finally puts an end to many of the conflicting rumors, leaks and speculations surrounding the handset.

Based on the details spilled by Tenaa, the OnePlus 2 will sport almost the same exterior design as its predecessor. Like the One, the 2 will still have the same basic rectangular shape and a textured back panel, according to GSM Arena.

One of the main differences between the two models, however, is the integration of a physical home button located below the 2's display panel. Although details about the exact functions of the oval-shaped button are still unclear, various sources have speculated that it will house the handset's fingerprint reader.

Also, for the 2, OnePlus has changed the placing of the device's main camera. Instead of mounting it on the top-most portion like in the One's back casing, the main camera of the 2 has been lowered by a few centimeters.

The sides of the upcoming device also feature a few changes. The 2's unlock button is now located on the left while the volume control is on the right side.

As for the device's other specs, OnePlus previously confirmed that the handset will be powered by the v2.1 Snapdragon 810 chipset. The company explained that it had collaborated closely with chip maker Qualcomm to ensure that this processor model will not cause temperature-related problems. The company also tweaked the internal design of the upcoming handset to prevent overheating issues.

It will pack a 16-megapixel main camera and a 5-megapixel front shooter. The device will have 4GB of RAM and will either have 16GB or 32GB of internal storage. It will feature dual SIM support and will run on a 3300mAh battery.

The size of the 2's display is rumored to be either 5.5 or 5.7 inches.
