Abdel-Majed Abdel Bary is a 23-year-old British rapper who was reported to have joined the ISIS (Islamic State in Iraq and Syria), and is recently investigated as a key suspect in the beheading the American journalist James Foley.

In an interview with Fox News, an official who is part of a senior intelligence agency who refused to be identified explained that Bary is one of the three British-born members of the Islamic State that the hostages called "The Beatles". Bary was reported to have left his 1 million British pound home in England after telling his parents that he was leaving "for the sake of Allah".

Not much information has been made public about Bary and his history, but U.S. intelligence agencies have explained that Bary's father, who was born in Egypt was once extradited from London to the U.S. for he was believed to have had a direct connection with Osama Bin Laden. In addition, he was also at one point believed to have played a role in the U.S. Embassy bombings in Africa in 1998.

Bary had announced on July 1st 2013 that he was giving up his musical career for Islam and "for the sake of Allah". Not long after his retirement from the entertainment industry he moved to Syria to see an old friend who was already fighting with the Islamic State.

The video that was released by the ISIS through CNN has caused a great deal of shock and debate in the United States and the rest of the Western world. However as a rule, the U.S. currently does not offer ransom for hostages to any terrorist group.
