Galaxy Note 5 Rumors & Features: Next Samsung Phablet Not Coming with Auto-Eject Feature for S Pen?

Samsung Galaxy Note 4

New photos showing off the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 revealed that the upcoming flagship phablet will require owners to manually take out its stylus pen.

This means that the device will not have an auto-eject feature, as suggested by previous rumors, Uber Gizmo reported.

Earlier this year, a patent filed by Samsung suggested that the South Korean tech giant was working a new technological concept for its S Pen-equipped devices.

Based on renderings of the patent, the device will contain magnets that will hold the stylus pen in place. Through polarization, the same set of magnets can also eject the S Pen out of the device's body.

It is not yet clear how this will exactly work but according to Sam Mobile, Samsung will most probably make use of voice commands or finger gestures to activate the magnets and the auto-eject mode. Of course, since it was rumored at that time that the company was developing the Galaxy Note 5, a lot of sources assumed that the flagship phablet will sport this new feature.

But, a new set of photos that surfaced recently show that the Galaxy Note 5 might not come with the patented magnet-based technology.

Based on the images, the device has small curves on its frame, particularly around the area where the stylus pen is stored. These curves provide enough space for users to use their fingernails to pull out the S Pen.

It is still not yet clear if the new leak has once and for all settled the debate regarding the existence of the auto-eject feature in the Galaxy Note 5. After all, Samsung has not yet confirmed if the photos show the actual device.

Hopefully, this will be clarified as the device gets closer to its rumored release period next month. According to various sources, Samsung will skip this year's IFA event in September by unveiling the Galaxy Note 5 within the second week of August.

The company is reportedly aiming to stay ahead of its competitor Apple by debuting its upcoming device before the iPhone 6S.

As to what users can expect to see in the Galaxy Note 5, GSM Arena noted that the phablet will sport a 5.7-inch display with a resolution of 1440x2560 pixels. It will be powered by Samsung's own Exynos 7422 chipset and will pack 3GB of RAM.

The device will contain 64GB of internal storage which can be pushed up to 128GB using a microSD card. It will feature a 16-megapixel main camera and a 5-megapixel front shooter.

The Galaxy Note 5 is expected to come with the Android 5.1 Lollipop as its stock OS.
