WWE 2K16 Release Date & Rumors: Terminator Joins Roster as Playable Character [Video]

Terminator

Arnold Schwarzenegger's iconic Terminator character will join the roster of the upcoming "WWE 2K16" game as a playable wrestler.

However, only those who pre-order the game will get the chance to take on WWE Superstars as Skynet's cyborg assassin.

According to publisher 2K Sports, two versions of the Terminator from the film franchise will be included in the game. One will be from the 1984 film "The Terminator" while the second version will be from its sequel, 1990's "Terminator 2: Judgment Day," IGN reported.

Both versions will be packaged with the game for those who pre-order "WWE 2K16" through major retailers such as Amazon and Gamestop.

The publisher noted that Schwarzenegger's professional and personal status makes him a suitable addition to "WWE 2K16."

"Arnold Schwarzenegger is a living legend with universal appeal, a perseverance for greatness and a strong relationship with WWE, including his recent Hall of Fame induction, all of which make him an incredible fit for 'WWE 2K16,'" 2K's VP of Marketing Chris Snyder said in a press release according to Slash Film.

"He's a force to be reckoned with and defines what it means to raise some hell," the executive added. "Through his 'WWE 2K16' pre-order inclusion, fans simply can't beat the opportunity to play as the Terminator in a WWE ring."

2K Sports has not yet released the official images of Schwarzenegger's Terminator for the game. But, as part of its promotion, the studio recently released a video showing a reenactment of the bar fight scene in "Terminator 2."

In this scene, the Terminator, still in its human exterior form, walks into a bar completely naked. He then takes on an entire gang of bikers to get clothes.

In the promotional clip, Schwarzenegger reprises his role as the Terminator. He then enters a biker bar filled with actual WWE Superstars.

The clip features Eva Marie dancing in front of a jukebox, Daniel Bryan as a bar patron and Paige as the waitress. Dean Ambrose is the unfortunate biker who gets into a fight with the Terminator.

"WWE 2K16" is scheduled to be released in North America on October 27. It will make its international debut on October 30. The game will be available for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One platforms.

For the latest installment in the 'WWE 2K' 2K Sports has chosen Stone Cold Steve Austin as its official cover athlete.
