Galaxy S6 Edge

A day before the rumored launch of the Galaxy S6 Edge+, new details about the upcoming smartphone from Samsung have been revealed by various retail sites. These include the device's full specs, price and even its pre-order date.

It has long been rumored that Samsung is preparing to introduce to the public the latest member of the Galaxy S6 family at the Unpacked event happening on August 13. But aside from the Galaxy S6 Edge+, the South Korean tech firm is also preparing to unveil its next flagship phablet, the Galaxy Note 5, during the event.

It seems rumors about the launch are true since the Galaxy S6 Edge+ are already appearing in various sites. Just recently, Phone Arena spotted the highly anticipated handset at Evomag.ro, a Romanian online retailer.

According to the site, the Galaxy S6 Edge+ will sport a 5.67-inch Super AMOLED Quad HD display protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It will house a 16-megapixel main camera paired with a 5-megapixel front shooter.

The device will be powered by Samsung's octa-core Exynos 7420 chipset and will feature the Mali T760MP8 graphics processing unit. It will have 4GB of RAM and will come in 32 and 64GB internal storage variants.

As for its price, the site listed that the 32GB variant of the Galaxy S6 Edge+ can be purchased for 4,035.88 Romanian Lei, which is around $1,009. The 64GB model, on the other hand, was listed at 4,530.30 Romanian Lei, or about $1,130.

Aside from the price and specs, the pre-order period for the upcoming handset was also leaked by Samsung's website for France. However, it seems the information was revealed accidentally because it was immediately removed from the site.

According to 9to5Google, the site noted that pre-orders for the Galaxy S6 Edge+ will begin on August 21 and end on September 3. Given this period, Samsung might officially start shipping out the device to those who pre-ordered it by as early as September 4.

In addition, the French site also mentioned that those who will pre-order the upcoming smartphone will receive a complimentary pair of Level On headphones and three months of free Google Play subscription.

But, as noted by 9to5Google, the information revealed by Samsung might only apply to France users. It is not year clear if the pre-order period, freebies included in the purchase and the possible release date of the device also refer to other regions.
