Today, North Korea's "Nodong" (labor) News Paper which represents the views of DPRK's labor party criticized and outright cursed the South Korean administration for allowing the deployment of a new high-altitude missile defense system (THAAD) in South Korean territory and for heightening military tension within the Korean peninsula.

The "Nodong" Newspaper titled their article, "A Ridiculous Act that Destroys the Strategic Balance of the Peninsula". The main point of this article that the Labor Party published was to criticize the United States for allowing the deployment of such weapons within South Korea, threatening other neighboring nations including North Korea and China and Russia.

The newspaper also noted the possibility of a military retaliation from China. They noted that the Chinese Communist Party had warned the U.S. administration on several occasions regarding the strategic deployment of such weapons and the construction of missile defense bases in both Japan and South Korea. Apparently the Chinese government is heavily concerned that they will become targets for these missiles that have been deployed on the Korean peninsula.

They also used this incident to justify the KPA (Korean People's Army) to strengthen their fighting capabilities. Only a few days ago, the South Korean military and intelligence detected the test-firing of another North Korean ballistic missile into Korean maritime territory. North Korea experts believe that this was an act of retaliation against the UFG or the "Ulji Freedom Guard" US-Korea Joint military exercise for the two countries' navies.

Last week, the North Korean government announced that they will not be dispatching their team of supporters into Korea for the Incheon Asian Games but only their national team of athletes. As of now there is a great deal of uncertainty and tension regarding diplomatic relations between the two Koreas.
