LG Nexus 5 (2015) Specs & Release Date Details Leaked?

A new leak has spilled the important details of the next Nexus device that LG is currently working on for Google.

According to the leak's source, LG's handset will come with a feature that can outperform that of Huawei's own Nexus device.

As previously reported, Google has contracted LG and Huawei to develop its next generation Nexus handsets. For LG, the upcoming device will be the 2015 edition of the Nexus 5.

In a leak posted in the Chinese micro-blogging site Weibo, LG's smartphone will reportedly feature a 5.2-inch display with a resolution of 1440x2560 pixels. It will also house a 13-megapixel rear camera equipped with Sony's IMX 278 sensor with OIS features.

According to Phone Arena, the leaker noted that the main camera of LG's Nexus 5 2015 will perform better than the rear snapper of the upcoming Nexus model from Huawei. The source did not explain the difference between the two cameras but this could mean that Huawe's handset might come with a different sensor.

As for the front camera, a previous leak suggested that it will have a 5-megapixel sensor and 6/2.0 aperture.

Also, according to the Weibo post, the LG Nexus 5 2015 will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 808 processor and will pack 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM.

BGR speculated that based on the processor model, the upcoming handset might debut with a cheaper price than most handset equipped with the Snapdragon 810 chipset.

As for the Nexus device from Huawei, various sources reported that it will feature a larger 5.7-inch screen. It is expected to come with a fingerprint reader on its back and a USB Type-C port. It will reportedly have 3GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB of internal storage space.

The upcoming device from Huawei could feature the Snapdragon 810 processor but other rumors suggest it might be powered by the Snapdragon 820 chipset. But, given the display's size and rumored processor model, it's probably safe to assume that the Huawei Nexus will be more expensive than the LG Nexus 5 2015.

These two models are expected to be unveiled by Google sometime during the second half of October. Both handsets will reportedly be introduced along with the official version of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Some sources report that the two Nexus models will be the first handsets that will come with Google's latest platform.
