‘Assassin’s Creed Syndicate’ Pre-Order Freebies Include Charles Darwin & Charles Dickens DLC [Watch Trailer]

Assassin's Creed Syndicate

Ubisoft confirmed that those who pre-ordered the upcoming Assassin's Creed Syndicate will receive a bonus DLC featuring the historical characters Charles Dickens and Charles Darwin.

In addition, the developer announced that the PC version of the game will arrive a month later after its console counterpart.

For the bundled DLC, gamers will get to play a new mission involving Darwin, who is best known for his theories about evolution, and Dickens, the author of classic novels such as "Oliver Twist" and "A Christmas Carol," according to IGN.

Although the content of the DLC is a nice addition to the historical aspect of the game, it was immediately criticized by YouTube users who viewed the trailer. According to most users, Ubisoft should first make sure that the game and its DLCs work smoothly before bundling them as a pre-order package.

Their complaints stem from last year's Assassin's Creed Unity, which was plagued with various bugs upon its release that left certain portions of the game unplayable, Cinema Blend reported.

For the upcoming game, Ubisoft assured gamers that its developers have taken the necessary steps to ensure that Assassin's Creed Syndicate will run smoothly. This is part of the reason why the studio decided to delay the release of the game for the PC by a month.

"We have introduced several new improvements to our production pipeline and validation process, which allowed us to focus on polishing, stabilizing and optimizing the PC version very early on in the project," Sam Kovalev, Ubisoft's studio production manager said according to the Ubisoft blog.

Due to the extra work that is being done, Assassin's Creed Syndicate for the PC will come out on Nov. 19. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions, on the other hand, will be released on Oct. 23.

"The additional four weeks are for us to really bear down and finalize all of the polish and optimization, to make sure the game and all of its systems are stale when it launches, so it runs smoothly for all players starting on day one," Kovalev continued.

The upcoming installment in the Assassin's Creed franchise will be set during the Industrial Revolution in London. For the first time in the series' history, the game will feature a female protagonist as well as a male lead character. In the game, players will be able to switch between Jacob Fry and his twin sister Evie.
