Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon rapped "History of Rap 6" on 'The Tonight Show.' They were later joined by comedienne Ellen DeGeneres for a lip sync battle on Wednesday, Sept. 9.

The colorful selection of songs ranged from "Fiesta" to "Summertime" and "Mo Money Mo Problems" to "B***h Don't Kill My Vibe" and "Fight For Your Right."

They also sang NWA's "Straight Outta Compton," and that's when Timberlake teased the show host: "Jimmy, we've been through this before," he said. "You are not Straight Outta Compton, you are Straight Outta Upstate New York."

The duo began the History of Rap saga in 2010, and have performed in 6 editions during the last five years.

The high point of the program was when Timberlake showed off his 5-month-old son Silas Randall Timberlake to the world, proudly telling everyone that Silas' first word was "dada."

Then, Fallon and Ellen DeGeneres rocked the show with their lip sync battle, where Timberlake took the judge's position.

While Fallon gave an upbeat performance on "Mr. Brightside" and "Watch Me," DeGeneres beat him finally with her cross-legged rendition of "Do You Know Where You're Going To," and Rihanna's "B***h Better Have My Money."

The show gave quite a competition to Stephen Colbert's The Late Show on CBS. Not surprisingly, The Tonight Show retained the top slot in audience ratings with an average viewership of 4.06 million against The Late Show's 3.66.

On the day their huge hit on the Tonight Show was aired, they made headlines at the US Open for their impromptu gig on Beyoncé's hit song. The camera in the stadium spotted them at about the same time "Single Ladies" was being played on the speakers. So the rapper buddies just knew what they had to do next!
