Not a lot of people can stand up to Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) in HBO's "Game of Thrones," but Diana Rigg's character Olenna Tyrell did a pretty good job last season when she tried reasoning with Cersei about maintaining peace between their families.
After all, Olenna's granddaughter Margaery (Natalie Dormer) is already married to Cerise's youngest son Tommen Baratheon (Dean Charles Chapman), as much as Cersei loathes the union.
For the sixth season of the show, Rigg teased that there would be an even bigger show down between Olenna and Cersei.
"I've got a head-on with Cersei coming up and it's really good," she teased to Digital Spy UK.
Rigg has been a part of "Game of Thrones" since 2013, and has appeared in 11 episodes already. The 77 year old actress loves being a part of the hit show, although she admits that it is "hard work" being a part of it.
"It would be nice if they took into consideration that I am the age that I am," she said. "It would be really nice if they didn't call me at 6 a.m., so I have to get up at 5 a.m. But they do - so I just have to get on with it."
Rigg's sense of duty is probably one of the reasons why she landed a role in the series. Most of her cast mates are also British, and she has a theory why "Game of Thrones" is filled to the brim with them.
"My theory is that they employ these British actors because, 1) we're grateful, and 2) we turn up on time and we know our lines. We don't demand a 60ft Winnebago, or our own chef and physiotherapist and secretary and PA, and largely we're very uncomplaining," she said.
One thing Rigg hopes would happen in the next season of "Game of Thrones" is for her character to do a scene with Peter Dinklage's Tyrion Lannister. Rigg believes that Cersei wouldn't stand a chance against Olenna, but the same cannot be said for her brother Tyrion.
"I haven't had a scene with Peter, and I so admire him, he's absolutely wonderful. Maybe I'll have one in the future at some point. I'm sure he'd get the better of me!" she said.
However, given the fact that Tyrion is now ruling Meereen in lieu of Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), Rigg's dream scene with him seems highly unlikely as of the moment.
