It took guts and bravery for "Mockingjay: Part 2" star Jennifer Lawrence to write a blog post about the issue of gender pay gap in Hollywood, and when she finally did, the actress received a lot of positive response and even some support from her male co-stars.

However, not all the response she received were glowing. Unfortunately, Lawrence also got criticized as a "brat" for "complaining" about the comparatively lower salary she received as compared to her co-stars, specifically in "American Hustle."

"Even after writing it, I don't remember what website it was, but it was called, 'Jennifer Lawrence's bratty display,' and I was like, 'Thank you for completely making my point,'" she said during an interview with Collider. "If a woman speaks up and is assertive and has a voice, she's going to be called a brat. I just don't see a man being called a brat."

Lawrence would clarify that her blog post was not so much about complaining about the salary discrepancies between her and her male co-stars, since it was actually about how her own beliefs got in the way of getting a better deal for herself.

"There definitely wasn't any foul play involved, on Sony's part. They're not going to give somebody more money, if they don't ask for it," she explained. "There was no foul play from the men or anybody making that movie. A lot of things have to be rearranged and exceptions have to be made when you're going to have that many movie stars in one movie. I hoped to just write more about how my own fears of how I was going to be portrayed or how I would look or how people would judge me got in my way when obviously the men don't think that way."

Lawrence then added that she feels blessed because she gets to do what she wants, which is to act, and this is probably the reason why she has the strength to block out all the negativity in her life.

"I really just think of myself as a working woman, and I just go from set to set and work. You have to promote a movie and work, and people are going to have opinions, but it's weirdly very easy to block out the world," she shared.

Lawrence will next be seen in the final movie in "The Hunger Games" franchise, which is "Mockingjay: Part 2." It has been scheduled for release on November 20, 2015.
