Tag Heuer has officially unveiled to the public its latest entry in the smartwatch market.

According to the luxury timepiece maker, the device, dubbed as Tag Heuer Connected Watch, was made in partnership with Intel and Google, CNET reported.

The company's smarwatch was launched during a special press event on November 9 in New York. According to Jean-Claude Biver, the CEO of Tag Heuer, the Connected Watch still carriers the vibe of a luxury timepiece despite being a high-tech smartwatch.

"We are incredibly proud to be unveiling the first connected watch, which brings more than 150 years of history firmly into the future," he said in a press statement. "The Tag Heuer Connected Watch gives you the means not only to connect to the future, but also connect to eternity."

The watch was designed with the help of tech giants Intel and Google. The former supplied the device's chipset while the latter brought its Android Wear operating system to the Tag Heuer Connected Watch.

For Brian Krzanich, CEO of Intel, the partnership of the three companies led to the creation of a watch that combines innovation with classic quality.

"Intel makes amazing experiences possible with smart, connected technology," he said in a press release. "Together with Tag Heuer and Google we created a beautiful, intelligent and functional product that harmonizes the latest computing innovation with more than a century of watchmaking experience, timeless aesthetics and supreme quality."

As detailed during the launch event, the Tag Heuer Connected Watch is made from grade 2 titanium and has a diameter of 46 millimeters. It is powered by a 1.6Ghz dual core Intel Atom processor and packs 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage.

Its display, which has a resolution of 360x360 pixels, still features the traditional dial and hands. But, Tag Heuer added counters at the 6, 9 and 12 o'clock positions to display information from the various installed apps. Tapping on these counters will show the information in full screen.

As for its other features, the Tag Heuer Connected Watch comes with various apps Google Fit, Google Translate, Google Search and Google Maps. These can be activated by the users through voice commands or by interacting with the device or synced smartphones.

In addition, Tag Heuer also included exclusive apps in the device such as Insiders, GolfShot Pro, RaceChrono Pro and Viewrangers.

According to the company, the Tag Heuer Connected Watch has a battery life that can last up to 25 hours.

The Tag Heuer Connected Watch can now be purchased from authorized retail stores for $1,500, according to Pocket Lint.
