Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update for LG G3 Will Be Available for Download Soon

The release of the official Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the LG G3 has been revealed. The latest Android OS is arriving next month.

According to Team Android, the Android Marshmallow update for the LG G3 is set for a Dec. 16 release date. Moreover, it noted that the firmware will first roll out to LG G3 users located in Poland.

Furthermore, the GSM Arena's post noted the LG G3 Android 6.0 Marshmallow update is already in the final testing stages or it might even be ready. The report cited a Twitter post from an LG Poland executive.

Other countries will get the LG G3 Android 6.0 Marshmallow update after the firmware's release in Poland.

According to the specs list for the LG G3, on a separate page from GSM Arena, the 2014 flagship device of the South Korean tech company, the smartphone originally comes with Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS. Currently, it is officially upgradeable to Android 5.0.2 Lollipop.

As for the LG G3's other specs, the handset device is equipped with a 5.5-inch display with a screen resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels with a pixel density of 538 ppi. The display features a True HD-IPS + LCD capacitive touchscreen and it is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Under the hood, the LG G3 smartphone, which was released on June 2014, sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset paired with a quad-core Krait 400 processor clocked at 2.5 GHz. For the GPU, it is equipped with the Adreno 330.

LG G3 users excited to experience Android Marshmallow update can expect several new features from the latest OS. For instance, according to Android 6.0 Marshmallow's official page, it brings in Doze, a battery-saving feature which puts the phone into a sleep state when not in use.

Using the Doze feature, fewer background apps and services are running when the phone is in a rested mode. But activating and deactivating the apps for the Doze feature allow users to not miss any alarms or incoming messages.

Now On Tap is another new feature found on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow which aims to improve further the user experience by improving the Google Now tool. It offers smarter feedback to users based on what they are currently doing.

With just a simple tap, users can "get cards with useful information and apps that feed your need to know, the Android's page specified.
